Student Services Coordinator


Student Services Coordinator

Nechi Training, Research and Health Promotions Institute is currently accepting applications for a Student Services Coordinator.  The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communications skills, exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. All functional and reporting responsibilities of this administrative position are to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. To answer questions and queries in regard to Nechi’s in-house training initiatives.
  2. Market Nechi’s training initiatives, including off-site community workshops whenever necessary.
  3. Work in partnership with the Contract Training Coordinator, assisting with questions and concerns relative to training content, logistics, and marketing strategies.
  4. Responsible for all in-house training applications; i.e. issuing, receiving, checking for completeness, and submitting to the Program Manager.
  5. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing correspondence between Nechi Institute and the applicant.
  6. To work cooperatively with the accounting department to maintain accurate student accounts.
  7. To maintain an accurate, current, and complete filing system.
  8. To coordinate all logistics pertaining to in-house workshops.
  9. Edit workshop reports.
  10. To work with the Nechi Nook Manager to update text book lists, pricing levels, and to ensure an adequate inventory is maintained.
  11. Assist with additional office administration duties.
  12. Other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of Grade 12.
  2. Proficiency with MicroSoft Office programs. A basic knowledge of accounting principles is an asset.
  3. A demonstrated skill in both oral and written communication. Good public relations ability, organizational skills and a commitment to working as an integral part of a team are definite requirements.
  4. This position requires a self-starter with good interpersonal skills. Someone who can work independently, yet adhere to necessary direction.
  5. Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative course and extensive experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
  6. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, language, organization and communities is a definite asset.
