2. Application forms which are not fully completed will be returned
and will not receive consideration until corrections are submitted.
3. The first course of the CAT Series (Communication & Ethics)
is a pre-requisite for attendance in the remaining seven (7) courses. Completion
of the CAT Certificate is a pre-requisite to admission in the ACT Certificate.
The ACT Certificate is a pre-requisite for the Aboriginal Addictions Services
Certificate.
4. Students applying for Advanced Counsellor Training are required
to complete an interview questionnaire.
5. Notification of acceptance will be mailed to the student
and sponsoring agency. Letters will include course schedules and when applicable,
a map to the centre and details regarding dormatory-style residence.
6. Fees are payable to the Nechi Institute and are due prior
to the first day of the program. In special circumstances, payment schedules may
be individually negotiated.
7. Students who are employed by AADAC and Alberta NNADAP-funded
agencies are exempt from tuition in the following programs: CAT, ACT, and PM.
Students who are not sponsored by their employer will be required to pay tuition,
book fees and a facility fee, if applicable. Accommodations and meals are complementary
with paid tuition, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
8. Training is delivered approximately one week every month
to allow students time to integrate their new knowledge and skills as well as
ease scheduling difficulties for their employers.
9. Nechi does not arrange practicum placement or employment.
10. Students must confirm their attendance prior to commencement
of their program.

Aboriginal Addictions Services Diploma: If you have successfully completed
Community Wellness program, you do not require CAT and ACT.

2. Apply to Nechi Institute blue training application
form.
3. Interview: Contact the Program Chairperson of Human and Community
Services at Keyano College (Edmonton office), 780-444-4975 or
the Director of Training at Nechi Institute, 1-800-459-1884 extension 404.
4. You will receive a letter requesting missing information
or you will receive an acceptance letter with a course schedule.
5. If you are asked to be tested for entrance to the program,
you need to contact the Student Services Coordinator at Nechi Institute or Keyano
College.
6. Upon acceptance:
a. Pay Keyano College a tuition deposit of $100.00 to register in your courses.
b. Contact Nechi Institute to arrange payment of the facility fee and to book
courtesy accommodations and meals when applicable.
**IMPORTANT: If you are sponsored, a letter from your sponsor
MUST BE SENT to Keyano College, attention: Student Services,
phone 1-800-251-1408 extension 4888.
**Cancellation: If you decide NOT to attend or if have already
paid your deposit, YOU MUST CONTACT Keyano College Student Services to cancel
your application and registration. If you do not notify Keyano College YOU WILL
BE CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE.
